A tree in Linwood has been taken over by Caterpillars.
One resident who had just returned from holiday on Saturday said there wasn’t anything unusual with the tree when she went on holiday a week and and returned on Saturday to the amazing sight thats turned Linwood into a tourist attraction according to a few local residents ” i’m just glad its not spiders ” quirked on resident.

It was confirmed by the Butterfly Conservation charity that ermine moth caterpillars have created the webbing.
A spokesperson said: “The webs provide protection from predators and the webs and the caterpillars are harmless.
“The webs slowly disappear over the summer and the adult moths fly later in the summer. There won’t be any lasting damage to the tree.”
