The demolition of any building, place or landmark in Renfrewshire and beyond has an ever lasting effect on the horizon, memories and history of that area and often creates a new horizon to look onto. I aim to capture any building, place or landmark before and during demolition within the Renfrewshire area but i need your help to do this !! if you see anywhere being demolished please send a e-mail to eventphotos@btinternet.com
PaisleyPhotographs has a great rapport with some local demolition contractors that do notify me of planned demolitions where ever possible but sometimes due to factors out with there own control they are unable to contact me in time of emergency demolitions etc, so we always need your help in contacting us with anything you see.
My first Demolition was captured away back in 1988 at Blackstoun Road in Ferguslie Park when Hunter Demolition flattened the former Church Hall within the grounds of St Fergus Chapel.
That morning upon deciding to capture it I headed to Supasnaps along from Leisureland on Paisley High Street to get a 36 exposure 35mm film roll with pocket money, that was really how Paisley Photographs started in its early infancy … well before the days of internet.
Thirty four years later my interests are still as strong in capturing photographs and video of buildings, places and landmarks that are destined for destruction.
A special thanks must go to the numerous demolition contractors an local people whom have contacted me and or given access, all to whom without their help i wouldn’t be able to preserve as much as i could have for our future generations to look back upon.
