Two Arrested As 26 Year Old Left In Critical condition In QEH

Two men aged 24 and 25 were arrested last night in connection with the serious assault at Maxwellton Street in Paisley.

A host of emergency services raced to the incident beside Maxwellton Cross at around 5.40pm on Sunday evening.

A police cordon is still in place between Maxwellton Street and Newton Street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40 pm on Sunday, July 23, police were called to Maxwellton Street, Paisley, where a 26-year-old man was found seriously injured.

“He was taken under a blue light escort to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical two men, aged 24 and 25 years, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing”.
