The festive season officially began in Paisley tonight as hundreds gathered at Paisley Cross to witness the highly anticipated Christmas lights switch-on. This year’s special guest, Jetta Duncan, a Primary Four pupil from Lochwinnoch Primary School, had the honor of flipping the switch and lighting up the town in true holiday style.
The crowd buzzed with excitement as performances filled the evening with joy and entertainment. From the enchanting moves of Maryann McCreadie School of Dance to the powerful vocals of the Paisley Rock Choir, the night was a celebration of local talent and community spirit. Other performers included Turning Point Renfrewshire, Erin Hepzibah, Vision Dance Academy, Jennifer Scott School of Dance, and the Proposal Cover Band, ensuring a memorable night for everyone in attendance.
Joining Jetta on stage for the big moment were Santa Claus himself and Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron, who added a touch of Christmas magic to the occasion. The switch-on transformed the town into a winter wonderland, with twinkling lights creating a spectacular backdrop for the festive celebrations.
The event was a shining example of Paisley’s strong community spirit, bringing together residents and visitors alike to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. As the lights glow brightly over Paisley, the countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun.
