Police Appeal After Teen Found Seriously Injured in Barrhead

Police in Glasgow are urgently appealing for information following a serious incident in Barrhead, where a teenager was found critically injured late on New Year’s Day.

Around 10:55 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, emergency services responded to a report of a 15-year-old boy on an electric bike who had been discovered injured on Aurs Drive, Barrhead. The boy was swiftly transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Road Closures and Traffic Disruption

As part of the ongoing investigation, Aurs Drive has been closed between the junctions of Arthurlie Street and Kelvin Drive. Police have advised drivers to avoid the area and plan alternative routes until further notice.

Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Ross Jamieson, who is leading the investigation, stated:

“Officers remain at the scene while we work to establish exactly what has happened. I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have information which could assist us to get in touch. I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam footage or private CCTV to contact us.”
