⚠ The Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning for Scotland, which will be in effect from 10am to 5pm on Friday, 24 January. This warning highlights the likelihood of severe weather that may disrupt daily life and pose safety risks.

Very strong winds associated with Storm Éowyn causing very dangerous conditions and significant disruption on Friday – Flying debris resulting in danger to life – Very dangerous driving conditions with fallen trees on roads – Damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down – Roads, bridges and railway lines closed, with delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights – Power cuts affecting other services, such as mobile phone coverage – Large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and homes
In addition, a Yellow Weather Warning for wind is in place from 12am on Saturday, 24 January, until 3pm on Saturday, 25 January. While less severe than Amber, Yellow warnings still demand caution as gusts may disrupt outdoor activities and transport.
