Speeding Crackdown on Linwood Road as Police Target Reckless Drivers

Officers from Renfrewshire’s Local Problem Solving Team returned to Linwood Road, Paisley, last night in response to ongoing concerns and less than 24 hours after they warned vehicles about speeding and antisocial behaviour involving vehicles.

The crackdown resulted in three drivers being charged with alleged speeding, with the highest recorded speed reaching a shocking 58mph in a 30mph zone.

Linwood Road has been a focal point for residents’ concerns, with reports of reckless driving and nuisance behaviour increasing in recent weeks. Police presence in the area is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and deter dangerous driving.

A spokesperson for the Local Problem Solving Team urged drivers to respect speed limits, stressing that excessive speed puts lives at risk.

Enforcement action is expected to continue, with officers monitoring key trouble spots across Renfrewshire.
