What’s being described as a significant cannabis farm has been discovered in the heart of Paisley town centre. Police made the find yesterday afternoon inside the former Mothercare building on Causeyside Street.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing officers securing the store and focusing their attention on a side entrance before guarding the premises overnight. The discovery has sparked shock among local residents and businesses, given the building’s prominent location in the town centre.
Police Scotland have yet to release a full statement regarding the scale of the operation or whether any arrests have been made. However, the presence of officers throughout the evening and overnight suggests an ongoing investigation into the illegal cultivation site.
This incident is the latest in a series of large-scale cannabis farms being uncovered across Renfrewshire, as authorities continue to crack down on organised crime groups involved in drug production.
More updates will follow as further details emerge.
