A man and woman have been arrested and charged after police uncovered a large cannabis cultivation in the Seedhill area of Paisley.
Officers swooped on a property in Seedhill Road around 3.20pm on Wednesday, 23 April, following reports of suspicious activity. Inside, they discovered a significant number of cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of around £232,800.
A 52-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and have since been charged in connection with the find. Both were expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Thursday, 24 April, 2025.
Speaking after the recovery, Constable Alan Kerr said:
“This result underscores our commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and highlights our efforts to disrupt the activities of those involved.
The public has a vital part in helping us to target and trace those involved and we encourage anyone with information or concerns to contact us via 101, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The bust is the latest in a series of efforts to clamp down on organised crime in Renfrewshire, with police continuing to urge the public to report any suspicious signs of drug activity in their neighbourhoods.
