A body has been recovered from the River Cart in Paisley this evening following an emergency response near Inchinnan Road.
Police were called to the scene at the White Cart to the rear of Dingbro, a motor parts business, late this afternoon after the tragic discovery was made. Emergency services, including officers from Police Scotland and units from Scottish Fire and Rescue, responded swiftly, with two specialist water rescue teams deployed to the scene.
The body was recovered from the water shortly before 8pm.
A police presence remained in the area into the evening as inquiries continued. No further details have been released at this time regarding the identity of the deceased.
