Transport Scotland is currently carrying out further investigations to determine whether it might be possible to safely reopen a single lane of the bridge. This would be a temporary measure while more permanent repairs are being planned.
However, at this stage, they are working on the basis that a full closure will be needed for approximately six months. This will allow time for a full assessment, design work, and the necessary repairs to be completed.
