Emergency services are carrying out a major search operation in the Firth of Clyde after reports that a man has gone overboard from a passenger ferry between Dunoon and Gourock.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on board the Sound of Shauna ferry. A man, believed to be around 60 years old, was reported missing by his wife as the vessel approached the Dunoon side of the crossing. He was last seen wearing a grey top and blue jeans.
In response, HM Coastguard launched a coordinated search involving crews from Largs and Dunoon, supported by lifeboats from Largs and Helensburgh. A coastguard helicopter has also been deployed and is currently conducting an aerial search of the area, as confirmed by live data from Flight Radar.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service are also in attendance at the scene.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard confirmed the multi-agency operation is ongoing, with efforts focused on locating the missing individual as quickly as possible.
