Detectives Appeal for Information After ATM Theft

Detectives are appealing for information after an ATM was stolen from the Co-op in Bridge of Weir in the early hours of Monday morning.

Around 3.55am on Monday, 18 August 2025, police received a report of a break-in at a premises on Main Street.

Mitsubishi L200 pick-up was used to crash into the shop, before three men wearing face coverings, red gloves, and dark clothing forced their way inside and removed the cash machine.

The suspects then fled the scene in a grey Audi S3, heading in the direction of Johnstone, leaving the damaged pick-up behind. Officers believe the men may have continued on towards the Dalry area in the Audi.

Detective Constable Ryan McGuire said:

“This appears to have been a well-planned theft and enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved.
We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area before or after the theft to get in touch. Please also check any private CCTV footage you have to see if anything has been captured to assist with our investigation.”
