Three youths arrested after taxi driver allegedly robbed at knifepoint

Three youths have been arrested after a taxi driver was allegedly robbed at knifepoint in Renfrewshire.

The incident took place around 10pm on Sunday, August 31, near Smiths Lane. Police say the driver was approached by three male youths who brandished weapons before stealing his wallet.

The shaken driver quickly reported the robbery, and officers were able to identify and trace the suspects using CCTV footage from the area.

All three were arrested a short time later. During searches, police say two of the suspects were found carrying knives.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
