Mystery surrounds police activity at Paisley guesthouse

Mystery surrounds a Paisley guesthouse tonight as police and forensic officers remain at the scene in the town’s historic Oakshaw area.

Officers were first spotted outside the Oakshaw Guesthouse earlier today, with CID detectives later joining the investigation. Forensic teams have been focusing their attention on stairwells and a room within the property.

The Oakshaw area, perched above Paisley town centre, is known for its cobbled streets and striking architecture — including churches, the Coats Observatory, and the landmark John Neilson Institution. Normally a quiet and picturesque corner of the town, it was transformed today into the scene of an ongoing police probe.

Police Scotland has not yet confirmed the nature of the incident, but officers remain on site as inquiries continue.
