Sad news tonight with the passing of one of Paisley’s much-loved Buddies

Sad news tonight with the passing of one of Paisley’s much-loved Buddies, Emily Brown.

Emily was a survivor of the tragic Glen Cinema disaster which took place in Paisley on Hogmanay 1929 – an event that left a lasting mark on the town’s history. She passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 101 today, just three months short of her 102nd birthday.

Emily’s life spanned more than a century, and her strength and resilience stood as a powerful reminder of both the sorrow and spirit of Paisley’s past.

Our thoughts are with Emily’s family, friends, and all who knew her, as well as the wider Paisley community and beyond, as we remember a truly special lady.
