It has emerged that CPR was carried out on a person at the Waverley Road demolition site earlier this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene, where first aid was administered. At this time, there has been no official confirmation of the identity of the person involved or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
An emergency road closure is now in place on Waverley Road. Fencing has been erected across the carriageway as a safety measure after part of the building was left in a precarious condition, with sections of the roof reported to be hanging loose.
Members of the public are being advised to avoid the area while the site is made safe. Further updates are expected once more information becomes available.
