A 36 year old demolition worker has been described as being in a critical condition following a serious incident on Waverley Road in the Foxbar area of Paisley.
Emergency services were alerted at around 9.14am on Friday morning, prompting a major incident response. Waverley Road was awash with blue lights as trauma teams, police officers, specialist units and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service descended on the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing CPR being carried out outside number 54 Waverley Road, a property currently being demolished along with neighbouring number 56. The work forms the final stage of a large-scale demolition programme on the street being carried out by Caskie Ltd, who have already demolished 10 blocks in the area.

Clothing cut from the injured worker by trauma teams was still visible outside number 54 on Friday, while police were seen bagging up additional safety equipment from within the demolition site. The items are understood to form part of an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
