Emergency services search River Cart in Paisley

A major emergency operation was launched in Paisley this afternoon after reports that someone had entered the White Cart.

Police Scotland, supported by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene as part of the response. A police helicopter was also deployed, scouring the River Cart for around 30 minutes as searches were carried out along the water.

After some time, emergency services were stood down and left the area.
