Emergency services were called to Maxwellton Street in Paisley at around 12.45pm on Friday following a report of a death.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.
Police Scotland said the death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no circumstances to suggest it is suspicious.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.45pm on Friday, January 23, we received a report of a death in the Maxwellton Street area of Paisley.
“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
