Two female pedestrians, aged 69 and male bike rider Hospitalised after Renfrew Incident

Police closed part of Inchinnan Road in Renfrew on Tuesday afternoon following a crash involving an electric bike and a pedestrian.

Emergency services shut the road between Bell Street and the Paisley Road/Hairst Street junction after officers were alerted to the incident at around 2.25pm.

Emergency services attended and the male rider of the e-bike was taken to hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Two female pedestrians, aged 69, were also injured and taken to hospital.

75v electric bike could later be seen badly damaged on Ferguson Street, where a collision investigation officer examined the scene.

Motorists were diverted away from the area while investigations were carried out, with the closure causing disruption to traffic in the surrounding streets.

Police remained at the scene while enquiries continued into the circumstances of the crash with the road reopening around 6.30pm.
