A commemorative event at Coats Paisley honoured Jane Haining, a Scottish missionary who perished during the Holocaust while aiding Jewish and Christian girls in Hungary. Despite personal tragedies, Haining dedicated her life to her mission and refused to abandon her charges. She was recognised posthumously as Righteous Among the Nations for her bravery.
