A blunder by the Council – there is more than one way to re-generate – this is so disappointing. As someone who lived on Well Street until recently, have to say that am hugely disappointed. Whilst the building near Underwood lane might have been unsafe, there were others further up that were perfectly fine structurally. The flats were great inside – big rooms, high ceilings – much better than many moderrn developments. Just needed investment. But no – the Council will be taking them down. The new flats? We shall see how well they look in 20 – 30 years. Guarantee will just be another soul-less development. Not to mention the local businesses being destroyed. Another part of Paisley’s “rich heritage” is being destroyed by the Council.
