Investigation Launched After Teen Seriously Injured in Paisley Assault

An investigation is underway following a serious assault that left an 18-year-old man with significant injuries in Paisley. Emergency services were called to the Abbey Close area around 1:10 am on Sunday, November 10 after reports of a violent attack.

The injured teenager was found at Lawn Street with the area remaining closed for several hours overnight, the victim was promptly transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.

Detective Constable Robert Young, who is leading the investigation, stated:

“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and can help with our investigation.”

A police spokesperson added that initial enquiries indicate a vehicle, possibly a taxi, was seen in the vicinity around the time of the incident. Authorities are eager to speak to the driver, as they may hold vital information.

“We are also asking the public to check private CCTV, and anyone driving in the area is urged to review dash-cam footage that could assist officers,” the spokesperson added.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have information related to the incident to come forward.
