A major police operation is underway tonight in Ferguslie Park, with a significant emergency service presence reported in the area.
Around 15 police vehicles and multiple ambulances have been seen responding to an incident on Bankfoot Road, at the junction with Blackstone Road, close to the site of the former Apex Centre and community centre is also closed off and been treated as a crime scene.
The area is currently being treated as a crime scene, with cordons in place and numerous police officers on duty. Officers have been seen conducting searches by torchlight as part of the ongoing operation.
Meanwhile, Westburn has been closed off, and a large crowd has gathered nearby as residents watch events unfold.
No official statement has yet been released regarding the nature of the incident.
