Police sealed off several streets in Paisley’s Ferguslie Park last night after a man was allegedly stabbed in the Bankfoot Road area, sparking a major emergency response and an hours-long stand-off.
Around 15 police vehicles and multiple ambulances descended on Bankfoot Road, with officers quickly closing sections of Bankfoot Road and Blackstoun Road as the situation unfolded.

Shortly afterwards, police also cordoned off the junction of Westwood Gardens and Westburn Avenue after a man reportedly barricaded himself inside a flat in Westwood Gardens.
The incident escalated further as officers sealed off the former Apex Centre and community centre site at the junction of Blackstoun Road and Westburn Avenue.

At the height of the operation, more than 30 marked and unmarked police vehicles were on scene, with blue lights illuminating the surrounding streets as concerned residents looked on.
The injured man — understood to be well known locally for his social media videos and music — was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was taken to theatre for treatment to a puncture wound his condition is not known at this time.

Friends and supporters have since shared messages wishing him well. Our thoughts are with J for a full and speedy recovery.
As of 1am, the stand-off at Westwood Gardens was still ongoing, with officers maintaining a significant presence in the area.
Police have yet to issue a full statement on the incident.
