Paisley Central Library Now Open

Paisley Central Library— a place for our people, in the heart of our town. Glowing with knowledge and know-how, this newly modernised space is a vital hub for our vibrant community, offering a range of unique services and support.

The result of an impressive £7m investment, the existing High Street building has undergone a full internal remodelling across all four floors. The eye-catching ground- and first-floor frontage complements the surroundings and preserves the historic features on the building’s upper floors.

The interior design is modern, fresh, warm, and welcoming. As well as lots of cosy book nooks, there is a new purpose-built children’s library with unique areas for reading, learning, and play. You can also relax and enjoy the quiet space on the new third floor mezzanine or visit our new dedicated digital suite which offers free public IT access for all.

Paisley Central Library will play host to a number of events over the coming weeks, from BookBug and story-time sessions, to author events and will play a key role as the host location for next year’s Paisley Book Festival.

With Doctor Who back on our TV screens, the library is playing host to an exhibition inspired by the show, complete with a TARDIS, Daleks and original artworks.
