Renfrewshire Licensed Trade set for 16 day closure
The closure affecting pubs , bars and restaurants will start from from 6pm this Friday.
Under the announcement made today the areas of the Central belt (Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Forth Valley, and Lothian) are under stricter measures with pubs closing from 6pm this Friday and not being able to reopen until Monday 25th October. Across the central belt which is worst affected all licensed premises will be closed.
Unlicensed cafes and restaurants will be able to stay open but must close at 6pm each day.
Shops, schools, colleges and universities will remain open as normal.
People in the central belt have also been asked to avoid public transport unless absolutely necessary in the next two weeks.
Snooker pool halls, indoor bowling alleys, casinos and bingo halls are closing in the central belt health boards, already identified, contact sports for people over 18 years old are suspended too, but not professional sports, outdoor live events will not be permitted in those five regions for the two weeks.
