A car ploughed into a building in Renfrewshire last night sparking fears to local residents, as the sound of the thunderous bang roared through nearby flats when the BMW ploughed through the front then through a second wall before coming to a stop with falling debris.
The incident which happened at Kilbarchan’s Steeple Street in a void property narrowly missing business premises and flats.
Early reports are the driver is ok and has escaped injury, although obviously shaken after the incident.
One resident in the area referred to the enormous bang fearing an explosion had happened close by.
It’s now feared the building will have to be demolished due to the structural damage.
