Police Stop Drivers And Pedestrians In Paisley

Officers searching for missing man Evan Reid stopped and spoke to drivers and pedestrians in Paisley a week on from when he was last seen.

“Whilst we assess all information from the public, I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Evan since 10pm on Saturday, 25 March, and we have not already spoken with you, please get in touch.

Around 150 people were spoken to in the Inchinnan Road area between 9.30pm and 11.15pm on Saturday, 1 April, 2023 in a bid to help trace the 31-year-old.

The last confirmed sighting of Evan is on CCTV footage on Inchinnan Road at 10.06pm on Saturday, 25 March.

Evan is described as being around 5ft 8in and of slim build. When last seen he was wearing a khaki green jumper, a black body warmer, dark blue jeans and grey trainers.

Chief Inspector William Graham, Renfrewshire Area Commander, said: “On Saturday evening exactly one week on from the last known place we believe Evan was, we carried out a road check, speaking to drivers and appealing for any further information. During this check we spoke with almost 150 people and I would like to thank the public for their continued support with this enquiry.

Community Policing Inspector Laura Hamill is leading on the enquiry and she said: “We are continuing our efforts to trace Evan Reid and would urge anyone who may have seen him on the night in question or thereafter to come forward.

“Whilst we assess all information from the public, I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Evan since 10pm on Saturday, 25 March, and we have not already spoken with you, please get in touch.
