Man Stabbed At Braehead Shopping Centre

A 21-year-old has been left in hospital and two men have been arrested after an alleged stabbing at a Renfrewshire shopping centre.

Emergency services were called to the King’s Inch Road area of Renfrew at around 5.45pm on Friday following a report of a disturbance involving several people at a premises in Braehead shopping centre. 

A 21-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His current condition is unknown. 

A spokesperson for Braehead shopping centre confirmed that a member of public required “urgent medical attention” following the disturbance. 

Officers confirmed that two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

They are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 11.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Friday, April 7, 2023, officers were called to a business premises in the King’s Inch Road area of Renfrew following a report of a disturbance involving several people.

“A 21-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.

“Two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection with serious assault and are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
