Police officers from the Violence Reduction Unit based at Ferguslie Park Police Office were on proactive patrols in Paisley when they carried out a vehicle stop on Fulbar Road after observing some suspicious activity in the local area on Saturday night.
The male driver and female passenger of the car were searched and found to be in possession of a significant quantity of class A drugs with an estimated street value of £5000.
It was discovered that the man driving the car was doing so without a valid licence or insurance.
The 37-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were arrested and charged with drug supply offences. The driver was also charged with road traffic offences, and the car was seized.
Both will appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on a later date.
