A 54 year old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and one person arrested after an incident in Paisley’s Westend earlier today around 2.30pm.

King Street to Castle street on Broomlands street remains closed as well as the cycle track from Maxwellton to Canal Street to let forensics and police carry out investigations.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Thursday, May 4, we were called to reports of a disturbance on Broomlands Street, Paisley.
“Officers attended and a 54-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
