TV crews pictured yesterday in Paisley for filming scenes of the hit drama.

It’s been a busy few days of drama on the Renfrewshire streets since film crews arrived at the weekend, but yesterday it was in the more relaxed setting of Stockholm Crescent for scene 78 ( Bam’s final scenes ) with Lorraine McIntosh Scottish singer, vocalist with Scottish band Deacon Blue, and actress who turns 59 this Saturday.
I won’t give out the spoilers on what happens, but its great yet again to see Paisley being put on the map, Maybe its time P A I S L E Y letters were put up on the Gleniffer Braes as its turning into out own little version of Hollywood with the amount of filming being done locally.

Shetland season 8 will see Ashley Jensen taking over detecting duties from the previous lead, Douglas Henshall.
Gaynor Holmes, Commissioning Editor for the BBC adds: “I am absolutely delighted that Ashley is joining the stellar cast of Shetland. Ashley is an immensely accomplished and well-loved actress who is known internationally and we can’t wait to welcome her into the Shetland family when filming begins in the spring.”

Joining the cast of Shetland for the eighth series are Phyllis Logan (Guilt, Downtown Abbey), Jamie Sives (Guilt, Annika), Dawn Steele (Holby City, Granite Harbour), Don Gilet (EastEnders, Sherwood), Ann Louise Ross (River City, Katie Morag) and Lorraine McIntosh (Outlander, My Name is Joe).
