Drugs Worth £161,000 Seized in Paisley and Johnstone Police Operation

A major police operation in Renfrewshire has resulted in the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value of £161,000.

On Thursday, 7 August 2025, officers carried out coordinated raids at properties in Rowan Street and Strathcarron Road in Paisley, as well as locations in Mary Street and Campbell Street in Johnstone.

The day of action led to the recovery of cocaine worth approximately £130,000 and cannabis valued at around £31,000.

28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the cannabis find. He has since been released pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith, of the Serious and Organised Crime Team, said:

“This significant recovery highlights our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our communities.
This seizure also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and Scotland’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.”

He added that support from the public is crucial in the fight against drugs:

“Information from the public is vital in helping us tackle this issue, and I would urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs to contact Police Scotland on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt organised crime and keep local communities safe.
