Emergency services raced to Ferguslie Park in the early hours of the morning after a flat fire was discovered on Blackstoun Road.
The blaze was found at number 32, where thick smoke was seen pouring from a first-floor window. Blue lights cut through the darkness as firefighters arrived within minutes, forcing their way into the property while anxious neighbours gathered outside.

Crews battled the fire and searched the flat as paramedics and police secured the street, which had been silent only moments earlier. Emergency services remained at the scene for around five hours, finally leaving shortly after 8am, once the fire was fully extinguished and the building made safe.
One woman is believed to have been treated for smoke inhalation, with authorities expected to release further information once assessments are complete.
