George Street closed after young boy struck by car

Part of George Street in Paisley was closed late this afternoon after a young boy stepped into the road and was struck by a car.

Emergency services attended the scene shortly after the incident, which caused minor traffic disruption in the area while the road was temporarily shut.

Thankfully, the boy’s injuries have been described as minor. He received medical attention at the scene, and there are not believed to be any serious injuries.

The road reopened a short time later once emergency crews had finished dealing with the incident.

Drivers were advised to expect delays while the closure was in place.
