The M8 at Arkleston in Paisley was restricted to one lane last night following a road traffic collision involving a car and a police vehicle.
The incident happened on the on-ramp to Junction 28, where emergency services attended the scene. Motorists reported seeing significant damage to both vehicles involved.
A 22-plate Volvo XC60 MHEV sustained visible damage to the nearside, while a 25-plate Ford Puma Titanium MHEV showed front-end damage.
Traffic was restricted to a single lane while the situation was dealt with, causing some disruption for drivers travelling through the area.
