It’s emerged a police officer was rushed to hospital after being struck by a police vehicle during the incident on the M8 last night.
The collision happened on the slip road at junction 27 of the M8 westbound at around 7.40pm on Saturday, April 18.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a Ford Puma crashed into a stationary police vehicle while the officer was assisting with a broken-down vehicle.
Both the police officer and the male driver of the Ford Puma sustained injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The police car struck a male officer who was dealing with a broken-down vehicle at the time.
“The officer and the male driver of the Ford Puma, who also sustained injuries in the crash, were taken to hospital.”
