British Transport Police Provide Update on Paisley Incident

Emergency services were called to Paisley Gilmour Street railway station this afternoon following reports of an incident on the tracks.

Officers from British Transport Police attended the scene at around 2.30pm on Monday, 11 May, alongside paramedics.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:

“Officers were called to Paisley Gilmour Street railway station at 2.30pm today (11 May) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to the death.”

The incident caused disruption to rail services in the area while emergency crews remained at the station.
