Emergency services raced to the West End of Paisley earlier this afternoon after it’s believed a train driver reported hitting something on the railway line between the King Street and Brown Street areas.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews, the Scottish Ambulance Service, British Transport Police and Police Scotland all descended on Brown Street, Well Street and Gallowgreen Road following the incident.

Emergency personnel were seen searching areas close to the railway line while officers closed off sections near the track.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “We’re assisting the emergency services in responding to an incident between Paisley Gilmour Street and Lochwinnoch.
“Due to this, the following services will be cancelled, delayed or revised.”
Rail passengers have been warned to expect disruption while emergency services remain at the scene.
There has been no official confirmation at this stage regarding the nature of the incident.
