Police cordoned off part of Paisley High Street this morning following a attempted break-in at the High Street Post Office and break-in at Poundstretcher.

Officers were called to the scene around 6.05am on Thursday after reports that both premises on the High Street had been targeted overnight.
A police tape was put in place while officers carried out investigations at the scene, with forensic enquiries understood to have taken place during the morning.

It is believed entry was gained to Poundstretcher, while an attempt was also made to break into the nearby Post Office branch.
Shocked early morning shoppers and commuters watched on as police examined the area and gathered evidence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.05am on Thursday, 14 May, 2026, we received a report of a break-in to a premises on the High Street in Paisley.
Police Scotland enquiries into the incidents are ongoing.
