Manhunt Underway Following George Street Attempted Murder

A manhunt is underway to trace the person responsible for a violent attack that left a 53-year-old man seriously injured in Paisley.

Emergency services were called to George Street at around 8pm on Monday, July 13, following reports of a disturbance. The victim was taken to hospital where, according to the latest update, he remains in a stable condition.

Police Scotland has launched an extensive investigation and officers are continuing enquiries to identify and locate the suspect.

Forensic officers spent much of yesterday carrying out detailed examinations of the scene. Investigators were seen methodically searching around the flats on George Street and gathering what appeared to be a significant amount of evidence that had been left behind during the altercation.

Several items were photographed, marked and recovered as part of the investigation, while officers remained in the area speaking to residents and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

The attack has shocked the local community, with a police presence continuing on George Street as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attempted murder.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the disturbance, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting the relevant incident number, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
