Toyota Prius Seized in Paisley After Driver Found With No Licence or Insurance

A Toyota Prius has been seized by Road Policing officers after it was stopped in Paisley being driven without a valid driving licence or insurance.

The vehicle was seized on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, after officers from Glasgow’s Road Policing Unit stopped the car on Gallowhill Road.

Police confirmed the Toyota Prius was being driven by a motorist who had no driving licence and no valid insurance, resulting in the vehicle being seized.

Driving without a valid licence or insurance is a serious road traffic offence and can lead to prosecution, penalty points, fines and the seizure of the vehicle.

The incident serves as a reminder to motorists to ensure they are legally entitled to drive and that their vehicle is properly insured before taking to the roads.
