Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Paisley following a serious incident on George Street earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to George Street at around 8pm on Monday, 13 July, 2026, following reports of a disturbance in which a 53-year-old man sustained serious injuries.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition is understood to be serious but stable.
Police Scotland has confirmed that an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man have now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Both are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 15 July, 2026.
Detectives say enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
