Police are appealing for information after a fire at a property on George Street in Paisley during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2am on Saturday, 18 July, after reports of a fire. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Police Scotland has confirmed that the fire is being treated as wilful, with officers carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Constable Jade Clark said: “The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch. Please check any private CCTV that you have to see if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation.
“If you were driving in the area at the time please also check dash-cam in case you have footage that could assist officers.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0406 of Saturday, 18 July, 2026. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
