Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in the Blackstoun Oval area of Paisley on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the area around 2.30pm on Saturday, 18 July, after a 51-year-old man sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
As officers carried out enquiries, Glencoats Park was closed off while the investigation took place, with a police presence remaining in the area.
Detective Constable Gillian Berry said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“Please check any private CCTV you have and let us know if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation.
“If you were driving in the area around the time of the incident please also check dash-cam footage and contact officers if there is anything that might help.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting incident number 1929 of Saturday, 18 July, 2026. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Anyone who was in the Blackstoun Oval or Glencoats Park area around the time of the incident and noticed anything unusual is encouraged to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
