Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered near Houston on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Corsliehill Road area on Monday, 27th July, following reports of concern for a person. On arrival, officers discovered the bodies of a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man nearby.

Police Scotland confirmed that both deaths are currently being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death, while detectives continue extensive enquiries to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers have stressed that, at this stage of the investigation, there is nothing to suggest that anyone else was involved.

Corsliehill Road is a quiet rural lane on the outskirts of Houston, surrounded by farmland and a small number of isolated properties. A significant emergency services presence was reported in the area throughout Monday, with a police helicopter also seen assisting officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is ongoing into the deaths of a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man in the Houston area.”
