A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate incidents in Renfrewshire, including an alleged attempted murder in Bishopton.
The first incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday, 11 July, 2026, when a group of motorbike riders were struck by a car on Greenock Road in Bishopton. Emergency services attended the scene and, thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Police are treating the incident as attempted murder.
The same man has also been charged in connection with a wilful fire at a premises on Edison Street in Hillington, which happened on Tuesday, 12 May, 2026. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The 39-year-old is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 August, 2026.
A 55-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the attempted murder investigation but has since been released pending further enquiries.
Police Scotland’s enquiries into both incidents remain ongoing.
