Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 16-year-old boy who has been reported missing from Paisley.

Thomas Smith was last seen in the Fountain Gardens area of Paisley at around 1.30pm on Saturday, 15 August 2026.

Thomas is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall and of slim build, with short red/auburn hair.

At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms and white Nike trainers.

Police say Thomas is known to have links to the Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Gorebridge and Musselburgh areas.

Sergeant Brian Nesbitt said:

“We are growing increasingly concerned about Thomas’s wellbeing and it is important that we trace him and confirm he is safe and well.

“We would ask anyone who thinks they may have seen him, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, to please get in touch.”

Anyone who has information that could help police locate Thomas is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1848 of Saturday, 15 August 2026.

Anyone who sees Thomas is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
